With the holidays in full swing, we reached out to our fabulous #BlogHer18 Health speakers and experts for some holiday tips! Hannah Bronfman is the founder of HBFit.com, a fitness guru, wellness expert and successful DJ. Q: What is your best nutritional advice for the holidays?
A: I am a believer in balance and moderation. It’s miserable to sit at a family dinner and feel restricted, so I love to create healthier alternatives to indulgent recipes by substituting more nutritionally dense ingredients, like monk fruit sugar or quinoa flour in desserts or using non-dairy ingredients to create creamy textures for sauces and curries.
Q: What tips do you have for staying fit around the holidays?
A: Don’t look at fitness as work – if it’s part of your life, you will find ways to incorporate it when your routine is off during the holidays. Family walks (or runs!), at-home workouts, and restorative yoga classes are all great ways to keep active during the holidays.
Q: What is your favorite holiday cocktail?
A: Anything with Don Julio Tequila.
Q: Favorite way to de-stress around the holidays?
A: A bath! Also, taking the time to reflect on goals and what I am grateful for at the end of the year is always a refreshing way to put the little things into perspective.
